“Go for Souls”

And He said unto them, “Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved, but he that believeth not shall be damned”,
Mark   16:15-16

These are some of the last words of Jesus; in Mark 16:15-16, Jesus commanded his disciples to go and win souls for God’s Kingdom while inevitably and intentionally depopulating the Kingdom of Darkness by saving souls from eternal damnation. Just like the disciples, we as Christians are called to go and do likewise; we are saved to help save others. We should not be content with being born-again, becoming a church member, and heading to heaven alone . . .

no, our “contentment’ should be in being passionate and actively bringing others to Christ. We should be like Andrew, who after meeting Jesus, went in search of his brother Simon to bring him to Jesus (John 1:41). In coming to Christ, Peter fulfilled his destiny and became the “leader of the church” after Christ’s death!

People discover their life purpose, fulfill their potential, and realize their destiny when they encounter Jesus. As follows, we must “go for souls” by reaching out to share the gospel of Christ with those in our families, job places, neighborhoods and as many we are opportune to come in contact with. As a church, we must deliberately take steps to “go for souls” by preaching the gospel to those in our immediate community rather than sitting and waiting for people to come to our church. This is the time for us as a congregation to lift our eyes and look at the world outside our church doors. We should go to the “highways and byways” to preach the gospel.

Many in our community are afflicted, helpless, hopeless, and troubled; some are on the brink of giving up on life and are yearning for someone to share the gospel of Christ with them. The Bible says in Joel 3:14, Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.” It is our responsibility as Christians to help the multitudes both young and old, men and women, poor and rich to learn of and meet Christ so they too can be saved and fulfill their destiny. Indeed all around us, there are  “harvest of souls” that are ripe and waiting, but the laborers are few (Matthew 9:37-38). NOW is the time to take up the work of an Evangelist and “go for souls!!”

The only person that can save man from sin is Jesus (Matthew 1:21); Jesus is the only one that can change and transform man, regardless of how hopeless his situation is (2Cor.5:17). When lives are changed, our community will change too. Crime and other social ills will diminish considerably. The Apostle Paul, a former murderer, and persecutor of the church, experienced the transforming power of Jesus and said in Romans 1:16, ” For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ; for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth: to the Jews first, and also to the Greek.”  As believers and followers who are saved, we must be a church that actively “goes for souls!” Romans 10:13-15 says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? As it is written, how beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

Brethren, IT IS TIME to “go for souls”; Christ has called and is sending us out to win souls.
What are we waiting for?  More anointing, more prayer, more money, more time, more energy . . . What? There is no better opportunity than now . . . When we go for souls, we become vessels of God’s power and can touch lives for the Kingdom. It was when Philip went to Samaria to preach Christ that God’s power was released unto him to bring salvation, deliverance, joy, and signs and wonders to the city (Acts 8:5-13). If Philip had not gone to Samaria, the people of the city would have continued live in captivity by the Devil and Philip would have missed the opportunity to experience God’s signs and wonders in his own life and

ministry. Because of their active obedience of Jesus’s commandment in Mark 16-15-16, the disciples experienced signs and wonders as proven in Mark 16:20 which says, “And they went forth and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following.” When we obey God and go for souls, He will partner with us; signs and wonders will follow and also perform for us. This month God has called to be our time to
“Go for Souls”!  There should be no excuse not to obey Him when it comes to evangelizing; Brethren OUR CITY is waiting FOR US!! When you step out (in faith) God will step in.

Welcome to the month of March, our month to “Go for Souls”.  What is keeping you?
