Walking in Spiritual Realities
“The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but victory rests with the LORD.” Proverbs 21:31
Just as the physical world around us is real, there is also a spiritual world that is real! In the physical world there are human beings and in the spiritual world, there are spiritual beings (Ephesians6:12, Heb.1:14). What happens in the spiritual world affects and controls what happens in the physical world such as life and death, victory and defeat, success and failure, breakthrough and breakdown all of which are determined first in the spiritual world before their physical manifestation. When believers understand this spiritual principle, they can then direct their efforts into building a powerful & victorious spiritual life manifesting a physical life of power and dominion on the earth!
Truth be told, even the best armies and the best weapons cannot guarantee victory in war, but rather victory comes by God and through the spiritual realm first! Here are some examples of the spiritual controlling the physical:
*The Amalekites were defeated by the young nation of Israel as Moses went to the mountain and lifted the rod of God. (Exodus 17:8-13)!
*Peter was saved from death and was also released from prison without one sword being drawn due to the intercessory prayers of the church (Acts 12:1-11)!
*Ahithophel was defeated by David’s prayer; “his wisdom would be turned into foolishness” (2 Sam.15:31, 2Sam.16:23, 2Sam. 17:14 & 23).
*The walls of Jericho were brought down through spiritual instructions, not by physical efforts. Joshua 6:20b ” and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city”.
*The severe famine of Samaria was terminated by prophetic declaration of Elisha; not by physical supply of food. 2Kings 7:1.
“Then Elisha said, Hear ye the word of the LORD; Thus saith the LORD, tomorrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.” Indeed the spiritual realm controls the physical!!
As believers we are not to be moved by our circumstances or whatever “battle of life” we face; rather let us be like Moses, the early Church, David and others who got their victory in the spiritual realm; “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; and having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled”2Cor.10:4-6.
To walk in spiritual realities, we must build up ourselves spiritually in the following wasys?
- Yielding your life to God. John 1:12
- Walk in the spirit. Romans 8:1, 8
- Walk in faith. 2 Corinthians 5:7 and 2 Corinthians 4:18
- Pray. 1 Thessalonians 5:17
- Be obedient to God and His word. Luke 5:5
- Be a tither. Malachi 3:10-12
- Be merciful. Proverbs 3:3-4
- Put your Angels to work. Hebrews 1:14
This month of July is our prophetic month of “walking in spiritual realities” and as we do so, God will confer dominion and power on us for continuous victories in 2017 in Jesus’s mighty name.
