“And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.” Genesis 7:23
Where we are positioned is crucial to our existence and accomplishments in life whether we are believers or not. Our salvation hinges on where we are positioned. Being rightly positioned can mean life or death in some instances. For example Noah and his family and were positioned in safety and were saved because they were inside the ark. Those outside the ark were in a compromised position and were killed, destroyed by the flood. Likewise, those that have chosen to position themselves in Christ (the “ark”) position themselves to be saved. Those positioned outside of Christ (the ark) will be destroyed on the Day of Judgement. The question to be posed is, where are you positioned? Are you positioned in the ark (Christ) or outside? Make sure you find your way to the ark (Jesus) before it is too late.
Where we are positioned also determines the level to which we experience God’s blessings in our lives. Psalm 1:1 says, “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. A blessed man does not position himself with sinners or the scornful! When we are wrongly positioned it brings a lot of hardship and sorrow with it. By example, by positioning himself in the lap of Delilah, Samson brought shame and death unto himself (Judges. 16:19-21); being positioned on the roof of his palace, King David fell into adultery, then committed murder (2 Samuel 11:2); the prodigal son’s sojourn to a far country positioned and reduced him to living the lifestyle of a beggar, losing both his honor and dignity (Luke. 15:11-16).
Right positioning brings blessings. Take for example, the woman bound by Satan for 18yrs; she was delivered from her affliction because she positioned herself where Jesus could find her (in the Synagogue) Luke 13:16. Isaac was positioned to reap a hundred-fold blessing during because he positioned himself in obedience to God, in the town of Gerar rather than going to Egypt, a land wrought with famine (Amos 4:7 & Genesis 26:12).
The position of the “Ark of the Lord” was in the home of Obededom which brought God’s blessings upon the entire household according to 2 Chronicles 13:14 which says, “And the ark of God remained with the family of Obededom in his house three months. And the Lord blessed the house of Obededom and all that he had.”
Brethren, when we are rightly positioned with God, we are blessed without struggle! When we are rightly positioned with the “son of righteousness” (Malachi 4:2), we will shine without struggle just like the moon, which does not struggle to shine because it is rightly positioned to receive light from the sun! When we are positioned with blessed people, we become blessed people! By positioning himself with Joseph, Potiphar was blessed at home and in the field (Genesis 3:5). In order to escape affliction and plague, we must be positioned in our own “land of Goshen” (Exodus 8:22-23).
In order to escape “avengers of our blood”, we must position ourselves in our “City of Refuge” (Jesus) Joshua 20:1-6. We must acknowledge and assert our rightful position in Christ of being seated (with him) in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6) and far above all principalities and powers (Ephesians 1:21) in order to keep the devil in his assigned position . . . which is under our feet! This month, let us be rightly positioned like Zacchaeus in the tree (Luke. 19:4-5) so that Jesus can locate us and like Zacharias in the temple (Luke.1:9-13), so that our long desired “John” will locate us, in the name of Jesus!
Welcome to the month of November, the month of “I am Rightly Positioned.”
